Amenities in Wissant village include a boulangerie, small supermarket, charcutier(fresh and cooked meats), post office with cash point and a good selection of restaurants, bars and ‘friteries’ that cater for most price brackets and tastes. In the village square, fresh fish can often be bought early in the morning direct from the local fishermen. There is a local market on Wednesday mornings. Wissant has tennis courts and crazy golf, sand yachting as well as windsurfing for the experienced enthusiast. Within a 30 minute drive are Calais and Boulogne (visit Nausicaà, the National Oceanographic Centre and Philippe Olivier and taste his famous cheeses) There are enjoyable local rambles, nature trails and mountain bike tracks as well as a number of golf courses nearby. For trips further afield, visit the chic seaside resort of Le Touquet (approx. 60 min drive), Arras, St Omer Brugges or Lille (both approx. 90 min drive). Paris is easily reached by train from Calais Frethun approx. 20 min drive).
